redhat（CentOS4.3） 环境下 grep 的返回值

[root@localhost ~]# grep "sam" /etc/password
grep: /etc/password: No such file or directory
# -s 选项可以屏蔽错误提示信息
[root@localhost ~]# grep -s "sam" /etc/password
或者
[root@localhost ~]# grep "sam" /etc/password > /dev/null 2>&1
[root@localhost ~]# echo $?
2
[root@localhost ~]# grep -s "sam" /etc/passwd  (不存在sam这个账户)
[root@localhost ~]# echo $?
1
[root@localhost ~]# grep -s "root" /etc/passwd
root:x:0:0:root:/root:/bin/bash
operator:x:11:0:operator:/root:/sbin/nologin
[root@localhost ~]# echo $?
0

对于运行后grep的返回值有三种情况：
    2： 指定的查找文件不存在或者文件名错误
    1： 在指定的查找文件中没有找到指定的内容
    0： 在指定的查找文件中找到了指定的内容，找到的内容的条目数不确定(n >= 1)
