eXodus could not find the correct fonts for the cursor. Make sure that the fonts are actually installed in the right place where eXodus can find them. To do that look on the "local fonts" tab of the eXodus control panel, at the directory listed there, and then look in that directory to verify that the eXodus fonts are actually installed there. If they are, then the fonts.dir file may have become corrupted. IN the fonts/misc folder. look for the file cursor.fon and change the name to altcursor.fon. Delete the file called fonts.dir. Restart eXodus and the fonts.dir file should be regenerated and the problem solved
