在红旗3.0下安装REDHAT的服务器telnet-server 出现问题

在红旗3.0下安装REDHAT9.0的服务器telnet-server 出现问题.我还试了其它的软件，结果也是一样的，我用的环境是在VMWARE4。0下进行的
rpm -hiv telnet-server-0.17-26.i386.rpm
rpm:heade.c :241:regionSwab:assertion 'ie.info.type>;=o&&ie.info.tye <9'failed
Aborted。
由于小弟刚玩LINUX不久，不知道是什么原因，请高手们指点指点，谢谢了

Description of problem:
After doing an initial install of Ximian Gnome 1.4 I am now receiving the
following assertion failure from use of rpm that modifies the rpm
databases:

rpm: header.c:259: regionSwab: Assertion `ie.info.type >;= 0 && ie.info.type
<= 9' failed.

This appears to be happening to the libxml-1.8.13-ximian.2 package.


How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. run 'rpm -qa'
The listing will stop after displaying libxml-1.8.13-ximian.2 and present
the Assertion failure.

Expected Results:  Should have completed without error.

Try doing a --rebuilddb with a recent version of rpm-4.0.3 from Raw Hide, as all
the ximian induced problems that I've been able to capture are fixed
there.
