a question about installing oracle on RHEL AS3

sorry for there is no Chinese input system and forgive my poor English.
Here is my problem: When i installed oracle 9i on redhat enterprise linux advance server3 it showed an alert such as this:

Initializing Java Virtual Machine from /tmp/OraInstall2004-06-22_09-28-43AM/jre/bin/java. Please wait...
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Unable to load native library: /tmp/OraInstall2004-06-22_09-28-43AM/jre/lib/i386/libjava.so: symbol __libc_wait, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference

But I have check it out that there the system do have the libc.so.6 library. Could anybody help me out to tell me how can I deal with this problem.

RHAS3采用了NPTL，导致ORACLE9的JAVA运行不了，设置环境变量解决吧。
export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.9
好像这样吧。我建议不要在RHAS3上面用ORACLE9，用10G，或者用SUSE EL8跑ORACLE 9

i try the meathod that you told me before. should i change the LD_ASSUME_KERNE version to the current one(my system is 2.4.21)
It seems the changes do not work
