据redhat官方程，ras3.0有严重的i/0缺陷

       好象说用ras3.0的如果是的2.4.21的内核，那么系统的性能将会很差，cpu占用将会提高，我现在用的是ras3.0，两个cpu和用4个120g的硬盘做raid，用来做ftp服务器，我用hdparm查看磁盘性能，结果如下，不知道正常与否？

/dev/md0:
Timing buffer-cache reads:   896 MB in  2.00 seconds = 448.00 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads:  204 MB in  3.07 seconds =  66.45 MB/sec

       这个话题引起了轰动，不知道有什么解决的方法可以提高disc i/0的性能呢？

     如果我想升级内核，请哪位告之在ras3.0下详细的方法。

Someone said install 2.4.22-1.2115.nptlsmp from fedora solved his I/O probs.

It costed me 3 days!
tell us your result!
But your results looks fine, the problems under light load it works fine
but mediem and high load it very bad.
I got <1M/s when using hdparm.

我现在是刚装上ras3.0，我本来的意图是因为这台服务器是480g的ftp服务器，系统的负载非常大，就因为这样我才用ras3.0，但看到有这样严重的问题，我也不敢把它正式投入使用了~

真希望能有解决这个问题的办法，redhat也不能坐视不理吧。

that's just redhat user email list. NOT official!
I'm using
kernel 2.4.22-1.2115
just download from
ftp://ftp.rediris.es/sites2/fedora.us/fedora/fedora/1/i386/RPMS.os/
rpm --force -i kernel-2.4.22-1.2115.nptl.i686.rpm

then select this kernel from Grub.

What kind of raid are you using? RAID 0,1 or 5?
"Timing buffered disk reads: 204 MB in 3.07 seconds = 66.45 MB/sec " looks good.
Did you get some number very low?

我用的是4个ide硬盘做的raid0

性能应该不只这点吧？
