redhat 求救！

cnnetinfo

现在在一台 笔记本（sony vaio 505 GL ）上安装 redhat 7。2  ，选择了ftp安装（custom），安装 选项中 xwindow  、kde 、ghome 、game等都打了钩，安装完毕后重起，为文本界面，用 root   登陆，后改为 用 普通用户 abc  登陆，启动satrtx ， 提示出错， 说找不着 /etc/x11 目录， 可我用  ls －al /etc  查找到有
x11 目录（蓝色显示），并且 属性为  dwrx－rx－－－x   ，我用 ls －al /etc/x11  命令，提示出错，说无此目录或文件，后来切换回 root，提示依旧，  暂且不理她， 后运行 xf86config
，最后提示 write  it to  /etc/x11/XF86Config?  输入 y  回车后，切换至 普通用户，运行startx ， 提示如前。  晕。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。
用find  命令查  xf86config 文件，也查不到 xf86config 文件，我要晕死了。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。各位帮忙啊。。。。。。

不过可以进入系统， /lib/modules/2.4.7-10BOOT/modules.dep  也明明在那里，怎说无此目录呢？、什么原因啊，
