IT Security Administration Team Lead
Position Description
The global Security Administration team is expanding its Asia presence and seeks experienced individuals to help manage the people and workflow. Reporting to the Asia regional manager (based in Hong Kong), the successful candidate will manage the Shanghai arm of the organization.
The Security Administration team administers multiple security and entitlements controls in the mainframe and distributed environments. and serves as the central control function for Privileged Access Administration, Exceptions Management, and Mainframe Entitlement Administration.
The candidate will work within the IT Security group, and interface with members of the Information Security Office, Risk, Audit and BU Development teams. There will be additional interactions with other IT functions: Enterprise Command Center, Entitlements Development and End User Computing as well as others. This is an auditable function and will need to adhere to the Firm’s internal SOX controls and other regulatory requirements.
This role is part of a global team with global responsibilities and the candidate must be comfortable working in a global team environment.
This candidate will report directly to the Asia Manager of Security Administration in Hong Kong regionally and indirectly reports to the Global Operations Manager in New York.
Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
• Assist in recruiting, hiring and establishing the Security Administration function in Shanghai
• Establish and communicate clear goals, track and report progress to management
• Resolve escalations and provide oversight of production changes. Manage vacation coverage schedules and ensure 24x5 coverage (shared with North America) by staff availability across regional staff
• Interact routinely with team members in NY, Montreal and Hong Kong to ensure consistent execution of processes and successful daily handoff of operational issues.
• Actively manage, lead, and grow staff.
• Conduct semi-annual and annual staff reviews. Additional responsible for staff technical and career development.
• Ability to interact with technical and non-technical business support personnel.
• Ensure business continuity practices are established and effectively in place.
• Follow the team’s Operating Principles.
• On call required at times.
• Must be reachable via cellphone/pager in case of emergency.
• Travel to Hong Kong, New York or Montreal may be required.
Skills Required
• Excellent written and oral communication skills. Fluent spoken English is required.
• College degree and 7+ years of working experience, preferably in an IT Security or Information Security field.
• Understanding of security administration concepts and technologies, including
o Windows and Linux operating system basics
o Managing user accounts in operating systems, web applications, databases, and other common computing systems
o Understanding of least privilege and being able to identify when a user may have too much access
o Understanding of how job responsibilities should relate to information sensitivity
o Entitlements systems and models
• Must have experience in establishing and managing multiple teams.
• Capable of working independently with limited oversight and leading a team of people with various levels of experience.
• Strong planning and time management skills.
• People management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written skills. Must be able to present comfortably to various level of management.
• Must be a team player and foster a team first environment and culture
Skills Desired
• Experience with mainframe security software such as CA-Top Secret or RACF
• Experience with distributed security
• Previous experience in operational teams highly desired
• Financial services experiences desired
