编译PostgreSQL时./configure 失败

编译是时候运行./configure
就出现：
configure: error: readline library not found
If you have readline already installed, see config.log for details on the
failure. It is possible the compiler isn't looking in the proper directory.
Use --without-readline to disable readline support.

然后我去readline-4.3 ， 编译好了还是这个样子。
网上说要配置 readline
网页上写的“配置信息
和大多数库一样，这里不需要做额外的配置。不过，库文件的路径如 /usr/lib 或 /usr/local/lib 应该在 /etc/ld.so.conf 文件中，这样 ldd 才能找到这个库。在检查了这一点后，要以 root 的身份运行 /sbin/ldconfig 。”

我的配置是
[root@LinuxTest etc]# more ld.so.conf
/usr/kerberos/lib
/usr/X11R6/lib
/usr/lib/qt-3.1/lib
/usr/lib
/usr/local/lib

是我的配置错还是什么问题？
postgresql-7.4的文档没有说过这个问题的。
