after /etc/passwd was overrideed.................

I have overrideed my /etc/passwd file , then I get  new passwd and shadow files from my workmate ,and put them into /etc directory .System seems to work well .
Pre information :
db2inst is a common username exit in my company's machines which used to manage DB2 instance as a administrator just like db2admin on windows .

When I su to  db2inst from # , a error msg is :" id: cannot find name for group ID 102" and I could not start DB now .I think GID 102 is for my previous db2inst user , should I delete the user and recreated it ?Also include recreated the DB instance .I hope it does not need to reinstall my DB2 :)

My question is : Why did it happened ? Because I have get new passwd and shadow files .Can someone teach me the detail context ?

我觉得你应该删掉以前的用户然后重建一个。不管怎样也没有必要覆盖passwd文件。

如果你一定要用你的同事的帐号信息，记得要把/etc/group文件也拷过来，否者只拷贝/etc/passwd和/etc/shadow文件会出现与group不一致得情况，比如他的机器上建的组而你的机器上没有，或者他的机器上建的组ID与你的机器上建的不同的组（组名不同）ID相同，也会有问题。
