ftp有问题，据说和被动模式(passive mode)有关.请教

我们现在在外地新建一分公司。

使用solaris 自带的ftp上分公司server 时， 不能ls 或 上下传，没有响应。但登录没问题。

据说和ftp的被动模式有关。 现在使用另一种ftp(ncftp) 就可以了。

想知道到底是为什么？

补充： cd 目录是正确的。

但pwd, ls什么的就没响应了。

put/get 时 显示 200 port command successful. 并且能看到上下传的文件， 但是0字节。 而且ftp就没有响应了。 只能ctrl-c断开连接

Your firewall shall not only allow port 21 access the ftp, you need allow addtional port such as port 10000, then you can use passive method.

Active mode: The client will use PORT command to send a port number to the server, the server will use that port number as a destination port to connect to the client.

Passive mode: The server will open a port number and inform the client, the client will use the port number to connect to the server.

The main difference is the in active mode the server will initiate the connection for data transfering and in passive mode the client will initiate the connection for data transfering

那我这边， 也就是client 端， 为什么从通用的ftp 换 成另一种 ncftp就可以了？

你所说的通用ftp是不是microsoft带的ftp（包括ftp.exe和IE）?
事实是有一些ftp服务器不支持passive mode的连接。有的是比较旧的版本，有的是处于安全的考虑。因为在active mode下ftp server只需开放21和20端口。
