The QA automation team, part of the SUSE Quality Assurance department, plays a critical role in ensuring the overall quality of SUSE products. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for creating automated test scripts, developing automation tools and supporting/maintaining our automation infrastructure. You will work along with other QA automation engineers, testers, product leaders and developers to fulfil these responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts.
- Develop and document automation tools and features. Evaluate existing tools that could be used.
- Integrate new features and tools into the existing test harness.
- Support and maintain our automation testing infrastructure. Instruct and train others on its use.
- Learn and understand new products and technologies sufficiently to be able to effectively automate their testing.
- Execute automated tests and analyze and report the results.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong programming skills. Proficient in one or more programming/scripting languages (preferred languages: Perl, Python, C/C++, PHP, SQL, Bash).
- Excellent working knowledge of Linux.
- Understanding of software development processes.
- Skills using development tools: source control (Git, Subversion), bug reporting, code editors, etc.
- Prior QA or automation testing experience.
- Experience debugging systems and applications.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a global team and across time zones.
- Fluent in verbal and written English.
This is a full-time position located in the SUSE Beijing office and reports to the QA Automation Engineering Manager. It is projected for the Software Engineer II or Senior Associate level.
