Job Description
A Utilities Consultant will ideally understand the problem and requirements, from a functional perspective, evaluate the alternatives, help develop solutions and work with clients to ensure their satisfaction.
He/she must have good knowledge of the Utilities industry in China (especially in the T&D area) and some related IT experience would be a plus.
Ability to understand emerging business trends in the industry through interaction with clients and industry peers. Should be able to discuss them and provide such inputs as and when required.
Leveraging such knowledge and experience, the consultant will support the sales team in client acquisition process.
The candidate should have good knowledge about system integration strategies, and he/she must be able to perform in multiple roles as per client/project needs. Proven fast learning capability is a must.
Technical Knowledge Required
Should have good working knowledge in Requirements Analysis phases.
Functional Knowledge Required
Experience in any of the following utility functional areas is desirable:
· Smart Metering and/or AMI or Smart Grid (preferable)
· Work and Asset Management / Engineering
· Billing and CIS etc. for operations
· ERP systems (including Oracle, SAP, or any other leading platform)
· SCADA / DMS / EMS etc.
· Any other areas related for T&D operations for Electric Utilities
· Gas and/or Water industry experience is also welcome.
Experience in process areas such as presales or sales-support, as well as proposal development and bidding for IT opportunities will be a plus.
Other Skills Required
Excellent presentation skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must. Communication skills include both verbal and written in Chinese as well as English languages.
Good analytical, problem solving, troubleshooting skills are required.
Qualification
Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering and or Power Systems is preferable) or Computer Science is preferable.
Candidates with Masters or PhD in the above fields are also welcome.
MBA from a distinguished B-school is a big plus
Years of Experience Required
Total experience can be around 6-12 years.
Should include minimum 2-3 years in Utilities industry
