This is a Software Engineering position within the Emerson Embedded Computing – China Design Center, Software Engineering Team. In this position, you will be responsible for defining, developing, testing, delivering, documenting and maintaining platform software for Emerson Embedded Computing products, supporting the next generation of Emerson Embedded Product roadmap. You will be responsible for developing embedded software specifications, developing device drivers, middleware, executing unit test and debugging/troubleshooting potential issues. You will be working closely with hardware design teams and be responsible for all software and firmware related issues during the planning, development, and validation stages of the program. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
-    Designing, developing, documenting and debugging device driver and API, including Bootloader, onboard Firmware and OS level device drivers
-    Follow software development process and develop product design related documents such as requirements, design docs and unit test plan
-    Providing pre-sales/post-sales and factory support
-    Engaging various internal cross-function team within organization to support product design and development
-    Engaging vendors/suppliers to provide solution for the product design
Requirements:
You must possess a minimum of a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and/or Engineering in a related field with more than three years of firmware and/or software development experience. Additional qualifications include:
-    Strong C/C++ coding skills
-    Familiar with PowerPC, MIPS or x86 Assembly language
-    Working knowledge of embedded system architecture such as ATCA, CPCI, VPX or VME etc.
-    VxWorks/Linux BSP development experiences
-    Excellent system-level debugging skills
-    Working knowledge in the software engineering development process and project life cycle
-    Familiar with software process related tools, such as ClearCase/ClearQuest etc.
-    Any experiences in the following areas will be a plus:
-    SIL4 certification
-   Train control system
-  Redundancy and voting logic
-    Good communication and documentation skills
-    Ability to work well in a diverse team environment and with others in cross-site organizations
-    Good English speaking and literacy
