Job Title:                 Server Administrator – Storage– Global Team

Supervisor’s Title:        Global and Regional IT Managers

General Summary:
This position is part of a global team serving all Grundfos companies.
The Server management are currently based in 3 competence centers located in the US, DK and China. The team is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining and optimizing the server-, storage- and backup-setup for Grundfos on a global scale.This position will have professional reference to the Department Head of Server and System Applications based in Bjerringbro in Denmark.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
•        Participate in the global team’s standard backend server infrastructure
•        Monitor and take action on storage expansion
•        Respond to and resolve global system issues related to the backend servers
•        Adhere to, document and publish processes and procedures related to IT (ITIL framework)
•        Ensure compliance with internal IT auditing requirements
•        Plan, schedule and implement systems and system updates
•        Contribute to backend strategy/design by sharing knowledge and suggest improvements
•        Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
•        Comprehensive knowledge working with Dell Equalogic, IBM DS systems, SAN and NAS
•        Further development of storage strategy, processes, procedures and documentation
•        Familiar with capacity and availability management/planning
•        Preferred experience with load balancing, I/O failure detections and troubleshooting
•        Ensure that the setup supports legislative and management requirements
•        Experience working with/troubleshooting server OS (Windows, Linux, Unix) – and hardware
•        An understanding of shares/ntfs permissions
•        Able to install/configure server OS
•        Experience with VMware technologies (ESX and/or ESXi)
•        Experience working with and configuring Active Directory
•        A profound understanding of basic server services (DNS, WINS, DHCP, etc.)
•        Scripting experience is a plus
•        Knowledge of assembling and configuring storage systems (iSCSI, Fiber, SAS) is a plus
•        Experience with server hardware installation (DELL/IBM servers – rackmount&bladecenter)
•        MS SQL server experience is a plus
•        Experience working in a datacenter is a plus
•        Familiar with system management solutions (SCOM, Dell, IBM Director, SCCM, BMC)
•        Able to communicate effectively (listen and speak up) with all levels of the organization
•        Ability to work in a systematic and organized manner
•        Self-motivated and requires minimal supervision
•        Able to work effectively in a global team environment – with colleagues across time zones and cultures
•        English skills must be at a very good level – both orally and in writing/reading

Education and Experience:
Minimum 5 years working experience as a server/systems administrator. IT/IS degree or equivalent work experience. IT certification preferred in MSCE/MCITP. Experience from working within an international environment is a plus.

Comments:
Travel will be required, (generally 2-3 weeks per year, could be more or less as needed).
