以下是职位的介绍
About Us:
The product we are building is a joint project between VMWare, a worldwide
leader in virtualization and cloud computing, and, Greenplum, a new star in big
data. In a sense, this project is really the place where cloud meets big data.
We believe in startup culture. This means that we believe that workplace should
be fun, collaborative, and full of passion and energy.
We practice agile development process. As a matter of fact, we now own the
most popular agile development tool, pivotaltracker.com. Since we are putting
you in an agile team, we are literally putting you in the driver’s seat for the
work you will own during a sprint.
We are hiring in China to pursue world-class talents rather for other reasons.
This implies that you and your counterparts in the Silicon Valley are equally
valued and that you should be able to meet face-to-face as needed.
About You:
You are passionate about the work you are doing. You feel self-motivated to
keep on picking up stories from the backlog and enjoyable to see your work
integrated in the continuous integration infrastructure. Be informed that this
will be a fast-paced team and that passion in software engineering is the only
way to excel.
You need to have a track record of delivering software to be a candidate of the
Principal member position. Ideally you should have hands on experience with
Java/Linux/DB, but this not mandatory. We do feel hands-on experience in
other domains e.g. .Net can be easily ported to our technology stack.
You need to be a problem solver or a fast learner to be a candidate of Senior or
Entry-level member position. Ideally you should have studied in a prestigious
university on computer science related disciplines, but this is not mandatory
either. We did find self-taught talented programmers in all kinds of disciplines
(e.g. math and physics).
You don’t need be very fluent in English, but you need to be confident and
comfortable working with colleagues who can communicate with you only in
English. (Note many of the colleagues in the Silicon Valley also speak English as
a second language). |
