Job Title: Principal Software Engineer (54) Job Type: Permanent Location: Beijing, China

The potential candidate would be a member of the Software Quality Engineering team validating a next generation cloud computing platform. The flagship product is envisioned to be utilized by the largest companies in the world to enable hybrid clouds.
Role and responsibilities: • Develop automation software and/or tool for an industry-leading enterprise level product • Responsible for tests, methods, and procedures to ensure continuous improvement of software quality assurance and serviceability standards • Own a project section/module or an entire project and lead/mentor a team of engineers • Consult with QE and Development engineers in resolution of complex problems • May develop new programs and subprograms, as well as enhancements, modifications, and corrections to existing testing methodologies, frameworks and processes • Demonstrates knowledge of project management, is able to identify business impact of proposed projects and designs • Demonstrates skill in development of new theories and methods related automated testing • Propose and develop solutions to complex problems, which require frequent use of ingenuity and creativity. Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives without appreciable direction • Works effectively on cross functional teams. Resolves differences in constructive manner • Interact with a geographically dispersed team to coordinate testing/automation activities
Qualifications / Requirements: • BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree. Masters is preferred • 8-12 years software industry experience
Essential Knowledge/Skills: • Strong Java programming skills • Experience with shell, Perl, Python • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills • Proven understanding of design principles and best practices for software development • Familiarity with use of source control management systems (e.g. CVS, Clearcase/UCM, Subversion desired) • Familiarity with tools for defect tracking, test case tracking (e.g. Bugzilla, ClearQuest? , Version 1, etc). • Ability to analyze defect and test case metrics and report results to management. • Must be capable of adhering to project schedules and effectively tracking progress to meet challenging deadlines
Desirable Knowledge/Skills: • Knowledge on Agile/Waterfall processes • Knowledge of Storage Area Networks • Knowledge of enterprise storage arrays • Knowledge of Cloud concepts and technologies

The individual would be joining a test development and planning team that is responsible for designing and implementing functional tests .The candidate should have the technical understanding to work directly with software developers to influence design changes to improve quality and testability of the software. Isolate, reproduce and track bugs and verify fixes - Analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommend corrective action - Fully competent in the design, implementation, and maintenance of a test environment, including necessary equipment, configuration, and software. - Responsible for designing, writing and automating new tests; may be asked to update existing tests (automated and/or manual). - Create new test environments and configurations to meet test cases or problem recreation requirements, maintain and modify test environment and configurations as needed - Document test results and manage and maintain defect and test case databases to assist in the continuous improvement and modification of software • Required Skills
- 5 to 10 yrs of testing experience with 3 yrs above in automation experience. - Proven experience in developing and implementing test automation strategy and framework. - Experience in functional test and systems test. - Ability to work in a team and cross functional environment. - Good communication and presentation skills. - Hands-on experience working with VMware, AIX, Solaris, HPUX, Linux and/or Windows operating systems - Programming experience in Unix Shell Scripting, C, Perl and Java. testing experience with RESTful and SOAP interfaces is preferred

Education:
BS/MS CS, CSE, EE or Related Discipline
