Sun cluster 3.0 上升级 UPDATE VXVM 3。2 TO VXVM 3。5

机器：Sun Fire 3800
OS ：SUN SOLARIS 8
CLUSTER ： SUN CLUSTER 3。0
VXVM ：3。2

我现在准备将VXVM升级到3。5

请教各位，有什么指教，
步骤或建议？？？？

由于写得太匆忙， 有 一些错误。

1.  # reboot  写成  # boot
2.  在升级后系统要 boot 到 cluster  mode ,  我没写。 不过这一点是显见的。

另外对于系统的具体情况， 步骤上可能会有些变化。

升级总是有很大的风险。因为 vxvm 3.5 是在
cluster 3.0u2 之后出的， 一般 vxvm 3.5 配
cluster 3.1.

[题外话:  install solaris 后, 要 install all recommanded patches]


在 upgrade 前要打 3.5  所需的 patches 的最新
版本。如  111413-12

检查一下你的 solaris 版本 02/02 ？

Details:
Volume Manager 3.2 requires patch 111413-02 or higher.  Volume Manager 3.5 requires Solaris patch 111413-06 or higher.  

Sun has recently released patch 111413-09, which requires the SUNWmdi package. The SUNWmdi package is only available from the Solaris 8 02/02 release.

An older release of patch111413 (-08 or earlier) can be applied without needing the SUNWmdi package.

At this time, Sun is charging material and shipping fees for the Solaris 8 02/02 version of software because it is older than the newest release.  You can still download Solaris 9 for free, but must pay for the media to receive Solaris 8 02/02.

Therefore if you did not get the upgrade of Solaris 8 02/02 during its service life, then you will have to pay for media to apply patch 111413-09, which requires SUNWmdi, which is part of the mpxio package.

如果少 patch ,  可以卸载已装的包， 然后打 patch, 再升级。


关于错误：

我怀疑升级脚本有问题， 如果直接用 pkgadd  的话 ， 可这样解决：

pkgadd  -d  .  VRTSfspro > /dev/null 2>&1

你的 mail  好像 spam 来自 yahoo 的信件。故回复如下：

你的  rootdg 还存在，一般并不需重建。
检查一下 /etc/vx/reconfig.d/state.d/install-db
存不存在。

如果有，删除就可。（重建 rootdg 也可能删除也可能不行，取决于你建 rootdg 的方法）
以上只是解决 vxconfigd 的启动问题。 你还有包没装成，
升级不能算很成功。

你的麻烦比较大了。 disk group configuration copies  错了意味着整个 volume manager
的配置丢失。 总之， 这些错误都是升级没有正常完成造成的。

赶紧联系 SunService,  如果你按我的步骤作了 volume manager 的备份， 他们应该有办法恢复，
尽管是比较困难的。

另外，你重启动是在 cluster  还是非 cluster  的状态？

不知你有没有重建 rootdg,   可以试试先重建 rootdg。
