tip hardwire??

Hi all,\r\n\r\n\r\n   why my notebook will hang there when i issue the command \"tip hardwire\"?(My notebook got vmsever that install solaris 10 \r\nas guest OS)..why this comman cannot be used?..Anyhow..Then what should i use if  I want to tip into a storedge machine like SUN Storedge 3510 using my vmserver guesst OS?

the \"tip hardwire\" must be used in SPARC  machine,for sparc machine to connect to another linux/sun machine using serial port,you may consider mincom,if x86 version has it

Thanks for reply.... what is mincom? a third party software?\r\n\r\nBut if now I want to connect to storedge machine and get the extractor from that storedge...But the connectivity if that minnow connect to that storedge was not functional... How my vmware guest OS(solaris) must to take out the extractor from it?\r\n\r\n1) what is the command should be use? instead of mincom?\r\n\r\n\r\nthanks alot!!May I know what is your location??

It should be minicom, sorry,minicom is a common software in linux platform,when you set correct serial port(add a serial port using physical serial port on the host in VMware),you can connect the storage successfully,which command can instead of minicom?I do not know whether  x86 version has minicom.\r\nAt last,I am in XiaMen
