大家好，有个问题想请教大家，这个帖子发在这里可能不一定合适，但我看了论坛各板块，不知道该往哪里发。就选了这个人气最旺的地方。实验室准备买一台mac pro的机器，双cpu，每个cpu四核（Xeon Quad-Core 2,8 GHz），主要是用来做计算，各位能否推荐一个unix或linux系统，对openMP和mpi支持比较好的？谢谢\n\n[ 本帖最后由 dianmu 于 2008-9-15 20:22 编辑 ]

Xeon 的话只能用LINUX了，软件支持的比较好。

关于硬件配置，怎么来优化。我在网上搜了一下，有三种机器，一是mac pro，二是DELL Power Edge2900III，三是HP xw8600 Workstation。我的问题如下，\r\n1、都是2个xeon的4核cpu，内存配多大能够最好的发挥cpu的性能？内存越大越好吗？内存条数跟cpu核心数目有一定关系吗？\r\n2、RAID的卡很重要吗？SAS 6iR internal RAID controller card，报价挺贵。\r\n谢谢

关于\r\n1、都是2个xeon的4核cpu，内存配多大能够最好的发挥cpu的性能？内存越大越好吗？内存条数跟cpu核心数目有一定关系吗？\r\n2、RAID的卡很重要吗？SAS 6iR internal RAID controller card，报价挺贵。\r\n\r\n1.内存根据应用来考虑，能说说是什么计算？物理模型？一般建议至少配置16G左右，也不是越多越好\r\n内存现有的机型一般都支持到64G，和CPU核心数目没有太大的关系\r\n2. RAID卡很重要，可以提供磁盘的冗余保护，上面的机型基本上都内置控制卡了，不会另外算钱的
