Error Description:\r\nSSA devices are normally configured in a closed loop. The loop\r\nconsists of a series of links, each link connecting two SSA\r\ndevices. A device can be an adapter card or a disk drive. If this\r\nloop becomes broken, the alternative signal path round the loop\r\nis automatically used. A link might be broken if:\r\nv A device is removed from the loop\r\nv A device on the loop is reset or switched off, or it fails\r\nv An SSA cable is removed, or it fails\r\nEach SSA device has a Ready light that indicates the\r\noperational status of the SSA loop to which that device is\r\nattached. The light is permanently on when the device can\r\ncommunicate with the two SSA devices that are logically next to\r\nit on the SSA loop. The light flashes if the device can\r\ncommunicate with only one of those two devices. The light is off\r\nif the device cannot communicate with either of the two SSA\r\ndevices. Usually, an SSA device is present at each side of the\r\npoint where the SSA loop is broken. Each of those devices has\r\nits Ready light flashing. |
