redhat linux 8.0 下的postgresql 安装问题？

我安装了一个redhat linux 8.0 由于它自带postgresql 7.2.2 可以用的，
后来我装了7.3.2就一直被认为是7.2.2 ？？？
pgsql 装在 /usr/local/pgsql
它自带postgresql 7.2.2 能不能卸掉？？？

rpm -e postgres-7.2.2

重新下载一套source，随便找个地方解开后修改一下configure，把安装路径修改一个新的路径，然后执行configure， make， make install

把你操作系统用户的path路径改成安装后的bin路径，该设置的环境变量都设置上！
