Scrum Master
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supports the activities and strategies of the Engineering Gaming Systems (EGS) division in the production and release of Advantage, sbX, and Casinolink related products.
This position is responsible to:
Essential Duties:
o Strongly serve the Product Owner and Development Teams in their quest to create quality software desired by the customer base
o Guide product development teams and the organization on how to use agile practices; act as an agent of change to introduce and expand the use of the practices throughout the organization
o Guide product development teams on how to get the most out of self-organization
o Guide team back to agile values and principles when they begin to drift
o Ensure agile activities occur as needed, and are properly facilitated to produce the intended outcome
o Guide people outside the team to effectively interact and collaborate with the team
o Assess the scrum maturity of the team and organization; coach the team to higher levels of maturity that provides value to the team and organization
o Remove local and global impediments, or guide the team to remove impediments
o Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on problem solving
o Facilitate getting the work done without coercing, assigning, or dictating the work
o Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
o Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information, which includes agile planning and tracking metrics
o Support and educate the Product Owner, with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog
o Organize agile training and coaching for the team
o Provide support to the team using a servant leadership style; lead by example
Required Skills/Experience
o First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I) or equivalent knowledge/training
o At least two years as a scum master for a software development
o Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
o Knowledge of burndown techniques, retrospective formats and handling bugs
o The ability to distinguish between what "is Scrum" what is "not Scrum"
o Previous experience as a team lead
o Excellent communication and mentoring skills
o Must be able to travel
o Must be at least 21 years of age
Preferred Skills/Experience (Any of these are a plus)
o Experience being on multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc)
o Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
