前言：好久没写英文版的文章了。刚好碰到 Win2000 Server 下的一个 ADS
(Active Directory Server) 启动 DNS 出错的问题，改了一下服务依赖关系，
重启就好了。因为这个事情很简单，用英文描述也很简单，所以决定用英文
来写。附件里带了图片，按照图片和说明操作，任何会用电脑的人都能学会。

另外：在 Win2000 同时使用 DNS Server 和 DNS Client 似乎有点问题，不
能做 DNS 的 IP 转发，也不能与根目录的 DNS 联系。可能跟我在家用 ADSL
Router 上网有关系吧，设置了端口转发也没有解决，后来我换成 BIND 9.30
就好了。暂时没时间写文章，有空再把 BIND 和 ADS 集成的经验记录下来吧。

# What is it?

Well, when people install ADS (Active Directory Service) in Win2000
Server or Advanced Server, DNS Server is required for Netlogon, but
Win2000 does NOT put the DNS Server to the DepenOnService item into
Netlogon Service.

I searched on google but found nothing, even Microsoft tech support
website has no topic on it. I have to fix it by myself. Below is my
solution and discovery to fix the DNS-ADS problem. Enjoy...

# Solution:

Click the Netlogon_New.reg, reboot, problem fixed. No error messages.
If you use different folder of "SysVol", modify it before import reg.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netlogon\Parameters]
"SysVol"="E:\\WINNT\\SYSVOL\\sysvol"

# Discovery:

Here is the detail steps to discover that how to find this solution.

1) Netlogon_01.jpg
Check syslog, you will find that Netlogon report many errors on boot.

2) Netlogon_02.jpg
Click for detail, we can find the reason is DNS operating rejection.

3) Netlogon_03.jpg
Click Service Control, Netlogon, see the original Depend On Service.

4) Netlogon_04.jpg
Run Regedit in Startup-->;Run, locate registry position for Netlogon.

5) Netlogon_05.jpg
Click DependOnService line, append a "Dns" string item as MULTI_SZ.

6) Netlogon_06.jpg
Click Service Control, Netlogon, see the updated Depend On Service.
