linux 上java不能正常工作的问题

我在hp的dl380 G4上安装了linux as3 u3版本的linux ,uname -a 如下:
Linux prodb 2.4.21-20.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Aug 18 20:46:40 EDT 2004 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
然后用rpm 安装了sun 的jdk-1.3.1_15-fcs包,但一运行java 就返回如下的错误:

但如果安装1.5版本的jdk就可以正常工作.
