安装tar.gz包时，总会出现string.h:no such file or directory

我在LINUX安装tar.gz时，经常会出现如下提示：
******：string.h:no such file or directory

如：我安装MRTG出错提示：

怎么解决，大家有什么好办法没有？
在./configure 编译中出现过：
checking for stdlib.h... (cached) yes
checking for string.h... (cached) no
checking for unistd.h... (cached) yes
