按照精华 整合apache2和tomcat5遇到问题

redhat9, jdk1.4。

编译安装apache2完成，在ie里面可以看到“您要得不是这个吧”的页面。

binary安装tomcat5完成，8080端口可以看到小猫。

在make安装JK2的时候遇到一个问题，在/usr/local/apache/conf里面看不到那个workers2.properties，后来我就在解压的安装文件里面拷了一个过去。
我按找精华里面的一个帖子，按部就班，该做的都做了。
然后启动apache，不启动tomcat，http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xx，ie里面显示tomcat没有启动的那个报错页面。表明整合基本上成功了。
但是启动tomcat之后，再在地址栏键入http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xx，出现长时间的等待，而同时http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xx:8080还可以显示小猫。

请问这是怎么回事？需要改tomcat还是apache?

问一句，在tomcat里面应该怎么修改那个server.xml？我一点都没改。
是不是这里有问题？有谁能贴一个正确地配置出来么？谢谢了。

长时间不相应是因为超时定义为0了，我改为10000后，10秒后显示：

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmater@xxx.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
