1. ASE is not supported on RH 9 (or RH 8, for that matter).
2. There is a "bug" in glibc on RH 9 that causes problems with ASE. Jason
Froebe posted a work-around on the ase-linux-list earlier today:

Hi,
WORKAROUND:
preload ld-2.3.1.so from an earlier glibc-2.3.1 (no later than -16).
LD_PRELOAD=/redhat_oldlibs/ld-2.3.1.so
${SYBASE}/${SYBASE_ASE}/bin/dataserver ....
related RedHat bug# 90002: binary compatibility for '_res' broken in
glibc 2.3.x
I'm investigating what will have to be done by Sybase ASE to be able
continue building on on GLIBC 2.2.4 and execute on 2.3.x and 2.2.x
GLIBC. |
