As their core business continues to grow new iterations of their product have led to a need for an individual with strong systems-level knowledge of iSeries (AS400) development. Your role will involve their flagship software product to develop the application components which will tie closely into the OS (eg. spawning processes, monitoring the creation of objects, prioritizing system processes, monitoring CPU usage, etc.). This will be accomplished by performing analysis of the existing product, designing the solution which your team will implement, and interfacing with testing and documentation staff to produce a seamless addition to the product's overall functionality.

Primary areas of responsibility will include:
- Analyzing and defining business and user requirements
- Designing and developing software applications
- Determining appropriate environment/tools for application,
Modifying, customizing and enhancing existing applications
Preparing test plans and cases; conducting unit and integration/regression testing
- Coordinating with testers and appropriate IT staff in deployment of software
- Documentation of project/application including specifications, design and maintenance
- Ability to work as member of development team; assume appropriate share of assignments/workload; and assist other
developers and share expertise
Experience/Education:
- College degree and industry-specific training preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in software application development on the AS400 platform.
Position Specific Competencies/Skills Required:
- Excellent C/C++, CL, JAVA, RPG, OS400, DB2/400, DDS, embedded and interactive SQL, subfiles, Query/400
- Excellent oral and written skills.
- Strong team player, able to accept and deliver assistance to meet deadlines, self-directed, organized, capable of
multi-tasking, and willing to shift priorities to meet business needs.
- Strong understanding of networking technologies and TCP/IP
- Competency with Internet applications such as FTP, telnet and HTTP.
- Experience with networking and data security.
