windows update的原理-如何实现基于patch的软件升级

如果能保持各个模块的二进制前向兼容性，用 rsync 都可以吧……

some commercial softewares do update like this：
1.client download an ini file which describes the latest version of dll and pattern file on server.
2.client compare the files with local
3.if some file is out of date, client try to download specify file.
#: some kind of file support incremental update(patch) in order to speed up update and save network resource.

4.after update, client try to replace the old with new one.

cnshibo 的方法,跟我图中画的方法应该差不多,不同点在于,cnshibo 提到"some kind of file support incremental update(patch)"  不知如何实现?

not all kinds of files can support this feature, I mean if you know the file structure, then you can support that. just like virus pattern file in AV product.
