c++编译问题

我在solaris下写了一个小程序
        //len_str.cpp
        #include <iostream>
　　 using namespace std;
        const char *st = "the expense of spirit\n";
        int main()
        {
            int len = 0;
            while(*st++) len++;
            st = st - len - 1;
            cout << len << ":" << st << endl;
            return 0;
        }
    用命令
        gcc -i len_str.cpp -o len_str
        编译连接时，老是说cout和这两个<<没有定义，提示如下

我在/usr/include下面找不到iostream.h这个文件，是不是系统本身少装了什么东西，或者要手动设置iostream.h的搜索路径，在下初次接触unix下的cpp，请勿见笑。
还有就是我在/var/tmp目录下没有发现cciokhJ9.o这个文件，请各位知道的指点一二。

如果装了solaris的sunstudio    可以用CC（大写的）编译器
