Description:

As a member of the Oracle Mozilla Thunderbird and Oracle Mozilla Extension QA team you will contribute to the
1. Design and develop test plans based upon functional and design specifications, and existing Mozilla Mail features
2. Work through the Oracle Mozilla Development team to report issues into the appropriate issue tracking system (Sometime Mozilla Bugzilla and sometime the Oracle Mozilla Extension Issue tracking system)
3. Analyze and report test results to product teams.
4. Analyzing reported bugs and work with software developers, development managers and QA manager to resolve bugs.
5. Participate in product enhancement functional reviews, test specifications, documentation and code review.
6. Contribute to product installation and upgrade testing activities.
7. Address customer specific issues

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Detailed Description
As a member of the technical/process QA division, you will develop quality standards, control methods and
theories to be utilized during manufacturing, testing and inspection to access product quality. Develop
standards and procedures to provide quality guidance methods. You will be also working with the Mozilla
fundation for Mozilla specific bug escalation (see links above).

Job Requirements
Duties and tasks are varied and complex requiring independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of
expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent
experience relevant to functional area. A minimum of four years of software engineering or related
experience required.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:

1. Bachelor or Master's degree in computer science or related field
2. Experience in design and implementation of functional and system test plans for the new features.
3. Expertise with developing high quality automated testing systems.
4. Excellent Java or C programming skills
5. Excellent Shell & Perl Script programming
6. Automation experience using WinRunner or Silk.
7. Strong understanding of QA processes and practices
8. Experience reviewing functional new features.
9. Self motivated and dedicated
10. Fast learner
11. Excellent analytical skills
12. Excellent English written and oral communication skills

COMPETENCIES:

1. Oracle Database skills (PL/SQL, SQL)
2. Knowledge of LDAP, IMAP, SMTP, POP, NNTP and MIME.
3. Knowledge of Code Coverage Tools
4. Knowledge of Rational Tools Purify & Quantify.
