JOB：
POSITION PURPOSE:
• Provide 7x24 hours shift duty to MTS IT Production Systems, and 24 hours help desk support.
• Implement IT hardware and software systems into the manufacturing process for the purpose of increasing productivity and quality of the business process.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Work closely with Maxtor Singapore counterpart to setup MTS IT FIS (Factory Information System) facilities.
• Provide first level, 7x24 hours support to IT FIS & Sub-System production systems in MTS.
• Administer all UNIX systems, focusing on MPU/MWC data collection systems. Duty includes,
• 100% system up time
• System backup / recovery
• System hardware support
• FIS applications support
• Pro-active system management
• Other project/administrative tasks includes,
• Project implementation
• IT/FIS infrastructure setup
• Computer room management
• Spare & inventory management
• Proactive Business System management and monitoring.
• Other system administration duty includes,
• Provide SAP system monitoring & user support
• Liaise with Maxtor Singapore & US EDS counterparts with regards to SAP issues
• Review and make recommendations/improvement on IT systems, applications and procedures.
• Work closely with Singapore counterpart on problem escalation & resolution, as well as new application requirements.
ACCOUNTABILITY/DECISION MAKING:
• This job requires a high degree of analytical, process, engineering skills, and independent judgment.
POSITION REQUIREMENT:
• University graduate in Computer Science or related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in managing mission critical IT systems in 7x24 hours high volume electronics manufacturing environment.
• Good working knowledge on Sun Microsystems, Solaris, UNIX shell scripting, IP networking, Barcode capturing system/network.
• Previous experience in the similar field is essential.
• Must possess good written & spoken Chinese/English languages, good communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively with users at all levels, as well as the relevant Singapore / U.S. Counterparts.
• Willing to travel to Singapore for training session |
