sun下怎么给压缩包加上密码啊?

man了一下gzip和zip好象都没有加密的参数?请教各位,这两个压缩命令可以实现吗?如果实现不了那有别的办法吗?

NAME
     crypt - encode or decode a file

SYNOPSIS
     crypt [ password ]

DESCRIPTION
     crypt encrypts and decrypts the contents of  a  file.  crypt
     reads  from  the  standard  input and writes on the standard
     output.  The password is a key  that  selects  a  particular
     transformation.   If  no  password is given, crypt demands a
     key from the terminal and turns off printing while  the  key
     is being typed in. crypt encrypts and decrypts with the same
     key:

     example% crypt key<clear.file> encrypted.file
     example% crypt key<encrypted.file | pr

crypt是用来加密文件内容的.我想知道的是怎么给压缩包上加上密码.就象windows下给rar包加上密码一样.

zip就可以啊，用zip -P pass  /pathtofile/file.zip /file1

zip有个-P选项我也知道的.但是在sun下(我的是solaris 8 )会提示不支持.
是与系统版本有关系,还是与安装有关系,还是根本就不支持?
还请用过的指点一二!!
