UX: useradd: ERROR: Inconsistent password files.

when I add the local account to a server using "useradd" and get the following error:

UX: useradd: ERROR: Inconsistent password files.  See pwconv(1M).

and then I use pwck:
Login directory not found
Logname too long/short

This couldn't be the root cause. As we used to not pay much attention on the length of login and directory

Then use grpck:
Duplicate logname entry (gid first occurs in passwd entry)
Logname not found in password file

I think the problem is in the group file, but how can I fix it?
