还没有接触I/O这块。只是从时间上判断。拷贝时间，解压缩时间，删除时间等这些的感官比较(和FB/Linux)。

还需要测试吗？终端用户是不管你测试不测试的。在没有专业背景的时候时完全靠感官。因此pc机的主要任务是提高交互进程的响应时间不是吗？那么在我的机器里面，nb下tar -zxf syssrc.tgz需要近10分钟，而Linux/FB下用不到2分钟，你认为测试能说明什么呢？

Have you turned the FFS soft-dependencies facility on NetBSD? Some of the Linux distributions use async, FreeBSD uses soft updates, if you didn't turn on this facility, it's unfair to say that the I/O performance of NetBSD is lower.

在fstab里面加入softdep之后
time tar xzpf sys.tar.gz
67.84s  real  3.15s user  16.11s system

第一次用NETBSD3.0时出了糗.
我大概有100多并发用户.在我建立好
FTP后,大家同时一上来就inetd崩溃.
弄的我好没面子,赶紧装回2.0.

To be honest, benching the disk I/O is really a hard job. Especially when you are attempting to get a persuasive result, no matter from what respect.
I got some incredible results several days ago, and have been thinking for a while without any useful conclusion got.
