Embedded Software/firmware Engineer

Job Overview:

The Embedded Software Engineer will work collaboratively with our customers to provide firmware/software design and implementation. The software will consist of device drivers as well as server management protocols and application enhancements and system extensions. Successful candidates will take the customers software through the entire development cycle (design, implementation, maintenance).

Duties/Responsibilities:

-Design and development of firmware and software, including documentation and testing

-Work with our OEM customers to develop software requirements, perform software porting, and troubleshoot problems

Qualifications:

-BS Computer Science or Electrical engineering, MS preferred

-2+ years software engineering experience, at least one year of which has been working on embedded devices.

Skills/Experience:

-Hands-on design/development experience in embedded Linux/ThreadX and/or other modern embedded RTOS and driver software architecture is required, especially in small-footprint embedded software products;

-You should have excellent C programming experience and assembly language programming experience is a plus.

-Experience in hardware bring-up, embedded driver development, BSP development for MIPS, SH family processors or equivalent system-on-a-chip CPUs is a must as well as strong knowledge of embedded debugging environment tools such as BDI2000 and logic analyzers.

-You should have demonstrated excellent team, communication, and interpersonal skills in addition to strong analytical and problem solving abilities.

-One or more of the following experience is a great plus:

- Knowledge of BASH programming

- Knowledge of IPMI specification
