Job description
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations The SCM Engineer is responsible for providing configuration management support for the Linux Java SCREEN3? program. The position is primarily responsible for providing software product builds, automation of the build and deployment processes, and installation program creation, updates, and enhancements. Secondary responsibilities include administration, planning, deployment, and support of SCM-related tools used by Quality Assurance and Development, as well as production support to those teams for feature development, enhancements, and defect corrections.
Primary Responsibilities
? Administration of source control tools to support product development
? Multi-site coordination of development tool planning, deployment, and support
? Planning, coordination, execution and validation of builds for hotfix, patch and support activities
? Assembling packaged media for installation, conducting test installs of packaged media
? Assistance in production support issues
Specific Knowledge/Skills - Bachelors degree in Comp. Sc., Software Engineering, or Communications engineering
- Basic knowledge of software configuration management
- 1+ year experience with ClearCase (preferred) or Perforce
- 1+ year experience maintaining make and/or ant makefiles
- Experience working with Java and J2EE source code management preferred
- Knowledge of IT and operating systems (Windows and UNIX/Linux)
- High level of technical understanding and abstraction
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Works well with others; strong inter-personal skills
- Able to communicate effectively in English (written and spoken) |
