谁知道cronsched的用处？

SCO中默认的cron文件中通常会有如下两行：
0 0 * * 1-5 scosh cronsched -r
0 0 * * 1   scosh cronsched -wr

GOOGLE了一下，大概的解释为：
The cronsched entry in cron is used by the system to generate
the calendar files requested by users option settings.
The "r" means: add a random time variation to the time setting
so that every machine does not try to access the calendar server
at the same time.
The "w" means weekly instead of daily.

我想知道这个作业的执行机制如何，好像一旦调用，ipc队列会堵塞，影响上面跑的应用，我想注释这两行，请问有什么隐患么？
