Responsibilities:
Work closely with R&D and Technology Business Units for New Product Introductions (NPI) and Beta trails during initial trial deployment for all product release.
Create, review and publish new product specifications, engineering releases and related documentations for new products / beta software, and ensure that they will meet user requirements. Proactively making suggestions for future release and product improvements, based on the product experience and regional feedbacks.
Work closely with international escalation centers to ensure service readiness including knowledge transfer, Early Access Training, documentation preparation and software distribution control.
Travel to customer’s sites as required up to 20% of the time, for trail and/or troubleshooting of Beta products, customer training on the same, and special assignments such as problem resolution that cannot be managed from escalation centers.
Provide escalation technical support for regional escalation centers and global customers (as required) when there is a technical field escalation.
Provide on-line application, installation, pre-/post-sales support to regional escalation centers as required to assist peer groups.
Provide expert technical assistance to appropriate groups (i.e. Sales, Field, Business Units, R&D, etc.) as needed to resolve the customer’s technical issues.
Champion the customer’s needs in a responsible manner, highlighting the common technical issues with the escalation center (as applicable) or R&D.
Requirements:
BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering or equivalent.
Must have fluent spoken/written English and Mandarin.
5+ years of telecommunication technical support or experience in relevant fields
In-depth knowledge of STM, SDH, and L2 Ethernet Switch technologies
Extensive experience of transmission and optical equipment
Extensive experience in operational procedures and commands on Solaris, Unix SHELL, Linux, and Windows/NT Operating Systems.
Extensive experiences in IP network technologies:
Internet protocols, class of service, IP and Ethernet QoS mechanisms, and IP network architecture;
Operation and configuration of network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and remote access servers;
Testing and Protocol Analysis on LAN, and MAN networks.
Knowledge of TDM, ATM, RPR, Generic Framing Procedure (GFP), and Link Capacity Adjust Scheme (LCAS), and SNMP is a plus
Familiarity of PAS, iPAS, Softswitch, and 3G is a plus.
Relevant vendor certification such as SUN, Cisco, and Microsoft is a plus.
A can-do attitude and superior customer technical support service skill.
