BSD License 的系统还原工具

我现在有一个项目，开发针对windows系统的bsd license系统还原工具。要求如下：

1. 双重启动，能在电脑启动的时候选择系统还原。还原文件重本地硬盘上复制；
2. 也能从光盘启动，并从光盘复制系统备份文件硬盘；
3. 支持NTFS和SATA
4. 工具免费并且bsd license
5. 界面友好

大家有什么好的建议和看法，请跟帖。

和 BSD 真的没什么有意义的关系，谢谢。

不是我泼冷水，做出来了真的没有市场。

用 FreeDOS 做骨架吧

呃……我原以为你是自己写，没想到……

I had originally believed that you would write your own version, but your reply really saddened me ...

我的意思是，你可以自己写嘛，用别人的工具，多少也有点碍手碍脚的感觉。

I feel sorry if you were disappointed by my thread.

Your point of view is obsolutely right and I entirely agree with you that we would have full control of the utility if we write it from scratch. But what I concern with is the EFFICIENCY of implementing the technology while giving me the rights to use it and distribute it. If we could find the right utility out there without writing the utility from scratch and meets our requirements very well, why should we write lines of code from beginning by ourself?

Therefore, I still think writing the utility from scratch is not necessary as there are a number of utilities available without license restriction. Adapting the utilities and spend some time on the sophistication to make it look more like a commercial product so that I could charge reasonal fees probably a better choice.

Any further comments are warmly welcome.

It's worth the time to write the code rather than invest the time looking for a well done product.

There has long been a rumored fact that Symantic Ghost is the de facto backup/restore tool for the Disk Operating System and Windows by Microsoft. And, bundled with cwsdpmi, it launches under MS-DOS and FreeDOS, running in protected mode.

FreeDOS is written so as to be run on 16-bit architectures like Intel 8086, so it's small enough to be fit on a double sided, high density floppy. Also, Ghost supports command line options.

Symantic Ghost is good utility for disk cloning. Its reliability and fully customized swtiches are superior and distinguish it from other products in the market. So  I contacted Symantic and enquired about OEM licensing fee a few weeks ago. But I was disappointed by the answer. Eventually, I decided to look for an alternative in open source.

I did a search on this and i have gathered some useful information to implement the project. The basic idea is BSD Kernel + disk utility. This may not be a good choice, as many open source disk backup/cloning utilities have limitations. That's why I posted my thread here to seek advise and want to find out if there are any better choices.

Writing the code from scratch could be a good idea. But I am lack of the expertise in this field and if someone wants to help me out with this. I would greatly appreciate and reasonable award would be paid for the work.

You'd better switch to a BSD-only project goal now that you wish to build the utility disc with BSD. I don't think it necessary to build such a tool as to be designed for Microsoft Windows. There is, however, commercial software that performs the task, some well, others badly.

系统备份还原一般用dump/restore, tar等常用工具都可以做到!  而要像windows下的恢复精灵, 一键还原什么的就不太清楚技术了!
