How to upgrade bos.mp and bos.up ??

Dear all,

I download some packages from bullfreeware,
but after installed, I can't execute it.

I see buffreeware faq,

A : Your system is too old : check fileset bos.mp (or bos.up) : lslpp -h bos.mp
If the most recent V.R.M.F is less than 4.3.3.50 then you must upgrade your system.
The reason why it fails is that since AIX 4.3.3.25, IBM has changed the libc.a library to be in compliance with Linux (this is called Linux affinity). Therefore, some functions in libc have been removed, some other introduced. Since we build all the freewares on an AIX 4.3.3.81, the call to some functions on your system may fail.

直接smitty install里面选阿！

First, make sure if the fileset you downloaded from bullfreeware does need AIX 4.3.3, or something else prevents you from executing it.

If you are sure it's because of AIX version, you must get a set of AIX 4.3.3 CDs and upgrade your system by:
1. Insert the 1st CD into the CD-ROM drive
2. Excute: smitty update_all, after this, reboot
3. Download AIX 4.3.3 maintenance level 11 from IBM: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/aix/fixes/43/ml/4330011/4330011.tar.gz
4. unpack the file 4330011.tar.gz with WinZip to 4330011.tar
5. Find a filesystem in your system with enough space, ftp 4330011.tar into it, then tar xvf .
6. smitty update_all, refer to the directory you untar 4330011.tar
7. reboot
