DB2专家三地巡讲（北京上海广州）即将开始
在2006年的System iITSO论坛上，DB2课程的教室堂堂人满为患。今年，为满足广大客户对System i DB2知识的渴求，IBM将在3月底举办DB2专家三地（北京、上海、广州）巡讲，特别邀请来自Rochester的DB2专家授课。具体时间和地点安排如下：

第一天：
09:00 – 09:30
- Why use SQL on System i - 30 minutes
o IBM has made many enhancements to Database and SQL in the past several releases.  Find out why your new projects should be using SQL for data access and when Record Level Access should still be used.
09:30 – 11:00
- Overview of New functions for V5R3 and V5R4  - 90 minutes
o This session will bring you up to date on new features and capafilities added to DB2 for System i in the past two releases.
11:00 – 11:10  Break
11:10 – 12:10
- New features of System i Navigator  - 60 minutes
o Learn about the new features in System i Navigator for administrating your dagtabase.  New features such as the DB2 Health Center and the Plan cache viewer will be covered.
12:10 – 14:00          lunch
14:00 – 16:00
- Performance – 120 minutes
o This session will cover several new capabilities for performance management for System i database.  Including SQE versus CQE, using the database monitor, the plan cache, and advisors.

第二天：

- Accessing System i DB2 in a network – 90 minutes
o There are several methods for accessing DB2 from clients.  This session  will cover them and talk about the advantages and disadvantages of each.
o Multi-tiered scenarios
o DB2 Connect
o JDBC
o .Net provider
10:30 – 11:30
- Development Tool and Techniques – 60  minutes
o Overview of tools available for designing your database, developing database programs, and administering your database.
11:30 – 12:30
- Effectively using Stored Procedures & Stored Procedure Languages – 60 minutes
o Using SQL Procedural Language on System i.  How to write SPL’s, how to debug, when to use, and how to call stored procedures.
12:30 – 14:00          lunch
ISV Solution Session
14:00 – 16:00
- Availability & Business Continuity Workshop – 60 minutes
o Using the Information Availability solution model with a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to develop Service Level Objectives & Agreements optimized for your business needs

 讲师简介：
Mr.Joel Eikenhorst is a Senior Software Engineer with IBM’s Storage and Technology Group Lab Services (formerly Client Technology Center) in IBM Rochester, Minnesota. He has 29 years of experience in various areas of the Rochester Lab including: Data Communications, Client/Server Technologies, VMC-SLIC, Database, Performance Analysis, and Java.

In the year 2000 he joined the Client Technology Center and has worked with many customers and business partners to integrate modern technologies with iSeries based applications.  The integration technologies he is familiar with include web enabling tools, Java , XML, Service Oriented Architectures and data base access.

His current interests include program modernization, development tools, and rich client/rich internet technologies. He holds an M.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Nebraska.
