Read the man page of shutdown command. shutdown by default takes the machine to single user mode. To shut it down, use shutdown -y -i 0 -g 0 and power the machine off

shutdown -y -g12 -i6 "the system is being rebooted"

这个是12是表示12秒后关闭

-i6 is reboot. of couse the machine is going to come up again
-i0 will put the machine at OK prompt
