Make sure the switch port lights up

Check your switch port. When your server has a problem, something it will send the switch port status to errordisabled. You need to re-enable it. Also check the switch port speed and duplex settings.

If you change to another switch port, make sure that you set the port to the same VLAN of your server's. Setup the right speed and duplex.

You should also try nus' suggestion to rule out any problem on the server itself.
