Senior Software Engineer - Dev

As the Senior Software Engineer - Dev based at Shanghai, China you will work on designing new feature and products and work with various teams in development of new technology. Candidate should hold Bachelor/master/PH.D degree in Computer Science/Engineering with 3 years experience. He/She will have solid experience in System Level Programming and fair level of understanding in DBMS (Database Management System).


Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
Experience in System level C programming - proficiency in C library and System calls.
Knowledge of DATABASE INTERNALS OR OPERATING SYSTEM INTERNAL concepts.
Knowledge of SQL languages.
Debugging skills - prefer experience in Unix or Linux debuggers.
Must have worked on the full product life cycle of design and implementation
Independent worker, organized, strong communicator with proven initiative to succeed in a fast-paced environment.


Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree with 3 years experience or Master/Ph.D degree in Computer Science/Engineering with 2 year working experience.

Responsibility:

•        Provides technical leadership requiring specialized expertise, creativity, initiative and sound technical judgment regarding platform-independent software system components.
•        Specifies, design, and implements platform-independent, complex software system components and libraries for new products or enhancing existing products.
•        Works independently and with a team requiring strong technical judgment to execute complex development assignments. Designs, implements, documents and maintains complex systems and applications programming interfaces. Identifies alternatives to achieve objectives. Determines approach, design, and implementation for unit tests for product components. Designs conceptual approaches and does the necessary coding and debugging to implement them.
•        Highlights exceptions and risks to the plan, identifying actions being taken to address them.
•        Achieves the committed results within the time frame, functionality, performance and quality standards established.

Education and Experience: BS/BSCS & 4-7 years or MS/MSCS & 4-6 year

Knowledge/Skills:

•        Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field with strong knowledge in Computer Science (Compiler Principle, Distributed Computing, Database Principle and etc.)
•        Two or more years experience with Unix, Windows, RDBMS, and object-oriented design (i.e., C++/Java) are required.
•        Experience with development of Data Integration or Business Intelligence products is a big plus!
•        Prior experience and strong background in one or more of the following areas is highly desired: C++, Java, J2EE, Multi-threaded Programming.
•        Proficiency in spoken and written English

Job Descriptions
This is a hands-on architect position. The candidate is expected to have solid technical knowledge in the areas of computer science and practical experience in problem solving. It is expected that the candidate to understand technical product requirements in the area of mobile server and clients runtime environments, middleware, and hand-held devices. The candidate needs to be able to derive testing methodology, create test tools, and test specifications to safeguard the product based on product functional requirements and specifications.

Responsibility
•        Designs, implements, documents and maintains complex test systems, subsystems and application programming interfaces.
•        Identifies and advocates for new, enhanced or replacement processes to achieve objectives.
•        Works on complex issues requiring specialized expertise, creativity, initiative and sound business and technical judgment
•        Develops the theoretical framework for a product component.
•        Serves as the technical lead for complex projects.
•        Communicates information directly and clearly. Checks for clarity and understanding during a conversation using active feedback, reflection, and other communication techniques. Capable of teaching others in both formal and informal situations.
•        Influences the use of automated complex, testing techniques.
•        Influences change in areas outside direct scope of projects being worked on.
•        Applies sound technical, projects and past experience in estimating task size and duration.
•        Highlights risks early. Incorporates risk elimination early into work plans.


Qualification
•        BS/MS in computer science or related disciplines, and minimum 10 years' software development/testing experience;
•        Exposure to J2EE technologies and application servers are required, including JSP 1.2, Enterprise Java Beans 2.0, Java Servlet 2.3, Java Naming and Directory Interface, JavaMail, Java Transaction Service and Java Transaction API and Java Database Connectivity 2.0.  Other exposure includes applications based on CORBA, XML, HTML, DHTML, and ActiveX clients, PowerBuilder, COM, C and C++.
•        Hands-on experience in QA using Windows and/or UNIX machines, and exposure to databases, SilkTest, and other QA tools are required.
•        Must be able to communicate in English fluently, both written and spoken.
•        Must have good interpersonal skills.
