Problem of installing Freebsd 5.1R to Alpha 500au

Hi All,

I tried to install the freebsd5.1R to alpha 500au box. I saw the sysinstall the UI. However, in the bsdlabel, I can not even see a disk. From the boot message, /dev/da0 is found. And in the Alt-F2 debug output, I saw bsdlabel said 'found a disk /dev/da0'.

What is the porblem????

I am sorry that my bsd box has not chinainput method.

Segate 4.3G scsi disk. It is regonized as /dev/ad0.

I googled, someone said I need zero the first sector of disk....

I have no idea about alpha. It seems that alpha is different with i386 about the disk partition.

For a pc, IBM dm can do that job, but this is a machine with alpha CPU......
Can your bios do that job?
