[求助]mysql连接数问题

不好意思，公司前任管理员比较懒，找了一个xampp整合包就把系统上线了，都是默认配置，没做过任何优化
不过数据量很小的，只是个CMS系统，表有50张，但数据库才15M

改了下my.cnf 增加max_connections=500,增加慢查询日志，结果现在80个Threads_connected就出问题了，根本等不到200了

现在是60多个就死了，似乎不是最大连接数的问题，是不是当时并发太大，并发数不够导致不能创建连接？
因为测试的时候，一个人先出现了这个错误页面，另一个人却没出现问题，还能正常使用，过一下会才出现问题

是apache+php+mysql
php应该是不采用连接池的，是长连接
但我不明白为什么Threads_connected不能突破200，我的max_connections=1024
是32位操作系统问题（有max open files限制），还是mysql设置问题，或者是php设置问题，还是代码问题

补充：apache偶尔出现自动关闭现象，事件查看器报出libhttpd.dll和ntdll.dll错误，我现在在排查这个故障
发现服务器装过tomcat5.5，做过apache和tomcat整合，这部分可能有问题，不知道和mysql连接不上有没有关系

apache和tomcat整合不完美，造成bug，可能导致故障出现（个人乱猜：例如存在内存泄漏隐患，导致占用系统资源，最后导致mysql连接不上……扯远了，但有可能）
