Principal Engineer
We are developing the next generation of information access methods.  We are enabling applications to store and retrieve critical content without the need for a local storage device. Instead applications will work with the storage cloud.
To do this we are developing advanced access methods based on emerging standards like SNIA's XAM object access method and REST APIs for web application developers.
Our group is small but nimble. Each of us coordinates with the other yet largely works independently.  In a very short time we have made substantial progress with the fundamentals and now we need to take our projects to the next stage. This position may offer the opportunity to coordinate engineering with off-shore development.
We are looking for a independent worker capable of contributing significant designs and coding. Fluency with C++ & Java on Windows and Linux are mandatory. Experience with REST APIs is desirable.  Development of web applications on both client and server-side a definite plus.  We are also developing authentication and authorization protocols (e.g., OpenID, Oauth) and encryption (symmetric and perhaps asymmetric).



Senior Engineer
We are developing the next generation of information access methods.  We are enabling applications to store and retrieve critical content without the need for a local storage device. Instead applications will work with the storage cloud.
We need engineers to develop projects in C++, JAVA, using REST APIs as well as other APIs like SNIA's XAM API.  As our projects advance, proof of concept code will need to be hardened, and potentially reimplemented. We also need substantial performance and availability analysis.
Our team works very much as peers:  Everyone is a significant contributor and innovator.  We have aggressive goals to demonstrate that our methods can deliver substantial improvements in the way applications access data.  There are lots of opportunities to take your career to the next step in this position if you can work hard and largely indpendently.






Staff Architect

As a Staff Architect in the Application Architecture group, this individual is required to demonstrate sound Technical Architectural Leadership, playing a vital role in designing, enhancing, implementing and scaling eBay’s application platform.
Roles:

• Demonstrates expertise and leadership in working with business units, product management, development and operations to architect innovative solutions that meet the eBay Marketplace needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability, realistic implementation schedules and adherence to architectural goals and principles.
• Drives technical designs to consensus and approval as a core member of eBay’s cross-functional architecture design group. Designs solutions for specific use cases that provide frameworks, interfaces and services that can be extended and reused for future requirements.
• Reviews external technologies and products for their applicability to specific project requirements. Is able to compare various solutions and select the one most appropriate for the project and company.
• Mentors product marketing and development team members on architecture topics (e.g., issues, directions, guidelines, etc.).
• Job Requirements:
  
  • 10+ years experience in requirements analysis, design, development and unit testing of distributed, fault-tolerant applications with particular attention to security, scalability and high performance.
  • Experience with architecting high volume web systems or large transaction client-server systems.
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills, especially the ability to articulate advanced technical topics; Ability to articulate business issues/concerns with staff, peers, superiors, and outside parties (e.g. vendors, partners).
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Very strong technical leadership and ability to command respect at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressured but highly structured, customer-oriented environment; Ability to contribute to multiple projects/demands simultaneously.
  • Strong object modeling skills.
  • Experienced in Java, application servers, servlets, JSP, Java Beans, EJB, JMS, RMI, JDBC. Experience with WebSphere a plus.

• Experience with XML, XSL, DOM, SAX, JAXP, DTDs, schemas, and XML parsers and tools a plus.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with database design and optimization (Oracle, DB2, Sybase or MS SQL Server).
• Experience with middleware messaging services and distributed objects.
• Experience with O-R mapping and persistence mechanisms.
• Knowledge and experience using eBay’s websites strongly preferred

Basic Qualifications:

• BS/BA in CS or related field.

Software Whitebox QA engineer (4人)

As a Whitebox QA Engineer, you will play a role in the code level testing of complex, multi-tiered distributed software applications.

You must be adept at working both as an individual and in groups in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment with rapid development life cycles.

Strong written and verbal communication is essential; as you will regularly collaborate with other QA engineers, project managers, software developers, DBA  and operation staffs located in different countries

Job Description:

  Analyze product requirements, create test plans and identify deliverables.

  Focus on whitebox testing. Design unit test cases, use various tools to do code coverage testing and performance testing.

  Creatively leverage various open source tools, or develop own testing framework to enhance whitebox testing coverage.

  Report testing status, escalating issues as appropriate. Track software defects and issues.

  Proactively solve problems, suggest process improvements.

Identify project risks and recommend actions to minimize risk.

  Share knowledge with peers, mentor less experienced team members.

Job Requirements:

  BS/BA in CS or related field.

  3 or more years experience in reviewing product requirements, creating test plans, and design JUnit/JsUnit cases for whitebox testing.

  3 or more years experience testing multi-tiered architecture and web-based client applications required.

  Project experience with IBM WebSphere or other J2EE application servers desired.

  Familiarity with Java, JSP, relational databases (Oracle), XML, HTML and basic Windows/UNIX system administration.

  Proficiency in testing Web applications with comprehensive knowledge of browsers and JavaScript required.

Experience with ClearCase and ClearQuest desired.  

  Experience with load and performance testing desired.
