-----------------------------------------------------------
Installing Microsoft Windows Advanced Server Limited Edition v1.2 with an Operating System Recovery CD-ROM Provided by the Hardware Manufacturer
If your system has USB EFI firmware and driver loaded then you should be able to navigate through the EFI Shell and to perform the installation without setting up the VT100 terminal emulator. (The VT100 terminal emulator allows you to see and navigate in the EFI Boot Manager, EFI Shell environments, and the text setup section of the OS only.)
Setting Up the Server's Video and Basic USB Input Devices
1. Insert USB keyboard in one of the server's USB connectors.
2. Insert USB mouse in the one of the server's USB connectors
3. Connect a display monitor to the server's video controller.
4. Power the server to test video and USB functions in the EFI shell environment.
5. Verify the USB keyboard is working in the EFI Shell and video can display the EFI Boot manager and EFI Shell screen then proceed to "Install the Operating System Locally".
Installing the Operating System Locally
1. Power ON the server.
2. Insert the Microsoft Windows Advanced Server Limited Edition v1.2 with Operating System Recovery CD in the CD-ROM drive of the server.
3. If the "boot from CD-ROM driver" option is set in the EFI Boot Manager, then the system should boot directly from the CD-ROM driver and start the installation progress. Go to step 11 below. If the option to boot from the CD-ROM driver is not set in the EFI Boot Manager, then go to step 4.
4. In the EFI Boot Manager, you will see: Acpi(PNP0A03,0)/Pci(2|0)/Ata(Primary,Master) EFI Shell [Built-in] Boot option maintenance menu
5. Select EFI Shell [Built-in].
6. Under the "Device mapping table" of EFI Shell, locate and select the CD-ROM device (fs0) for example: fs0 : Acpi(PNP0A03,0)/Pci(2|0)/Ata(Primary,Master)/CDROM(Entry1) blk0 : Acpi(PNP0A03,1)/Pci(1|0)/Scsi(Pun0,Lun0) blk1 : Acpi(PNP0A03,0)/Pci(2|0)/Ata(Primary,Master) blk2 : Acpi(PNP0A03,0)/Pci(2|0)/Ata(Primary,Master)/CDROM(Entry1)
7. Type fs0: then press Enter.
8. Once in fs0:\>, enter the command: CD \EFI\BOOT
9. Under FS0\EFI\BOOT:\>, locate the SETUPLDR.EFI file
10. To install the OS, enter the command: SETUPLDR.EFI
