The Position:   Java Technical Architect
Reporting line:
•Reports to the Lead of the Technical Architect Team
Responsibilities:
•Works as a member of the Technical Architecture Team
•Responsible for leading the team of junior architects
•erforms design and code review
•Responsible for establishing technical standards and practices

Requirements:
Must have:
•Expert Java/Web/DB development skills (e.g. Servlets, JSP, JDBC, Multithreading, Transactions, Web Security)
•Ability to coach and mentor technical staff
•Creativity and enthusiastic personality
•Good design skills
•“Love for technology”. If you are interested in people management or looking for opportunities to improve your business skills this position is not for you
•Genuine interest in learning and keeping up to date with emerging development standards and technologies. If you never heard of: SHA, JDO, POJO, UML, IOC, AOP, Struts, The Server Side, Java Lobby, The Gang of Four, Slashdot this position is not for you
•Relatively good spoken/written English (technical writing, presentations)

Nice to have:
•Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
•Experience in developing and designing frameworks
•Experience with Websphere Application Server, Websphere Portal Server, Websphere MQ,  Oracle and Sun Solaris
•Knowledge of design/modeling standards (UML, design patterns etc.)
•Knowledge of database design, experience with Oracle;
•Knowledge of application security issues such as authentication, authorization and auditing;
•Good spoken/written Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
